Jack Elam equally at home as a cold blooded killer or just as a rascal or just the grizzled sidekick. Jack's career spanned westerns, gangster films and even roles in comedy films. His trademark left eye could be disarming or lighten the moment depending on the role. His sightless left eye was the result of a childhood fight at age 12 when he was stabbed in the eye with a pencil.
His break in Hollywood came when he traded accounting services for a role, that launched him, as an in demand character actor, often as the heavy.
