LIT'L BIT OF MOVIE HISTORY:
Originally the sign on Mt. Lee overlooking Hollywood read Hollywoodland.
The sign was first designed to advertise a real estate development. Years
after its construction the last 4 letters were removed. Ever since, it has
become a landmark, as a symbol representing the movie capital. The white,
blocked letter sign dates back to the 1920's.

AN OLD RADIO FACT:
SAM SPADE, the series came to radio, on CBS, July 12, 1946. Based on the
detective character created by Dashiell Hammett in the 1930 novel, " The
Maltese Falcon". On radio the role was played by Howard Duff and Steve
Dunne. The classic portrayal of Spade was in 1941. Humphrey Bogart played
the part in the feature film version of the novel.

IT'S TRIVIAL:
Fans of Tom Mix, the great movie cowboy, know he is most often associated
with Tony, The Wonder Horse, he rode to fame on in many an early western.
But the first horse Tom rode on the celluloid range was Old Blue.

CLASSIC TV:
Ok Kids What Time is it??? It's Howdy Doody Time---the show began its long
television run on December 27, 1947. The series left the air in 1960. .
Buffalo Bob Smith was the voice of Howdy and Bob Keeshan (Captain Kangaroo)
was at one time Clarabell The Clown.
